Eagle Scout Charge – A Proper Eagle Scout Charge (PRINTABLE SHEET)
As an Eagle Scout, you have truly achieved a remarkable milestone in your journey as a Scout. The Eagle Scout Charge is the Scout Oath and Law for the highest honor of the Boy Scouts of America, and is often read aloud to the newly-minted Eagle Scout at their Court of Honor. The Charge serves as a reminder to uphold the values and principles of Scouting even after you have earned your Eagle. To assist you in the delivery of the Charge, we have created a printable sheet for the Eagle Scout Charge.
The Eagle Scout Charge is compiled of four sections: the Introduction, the Scout Oath, the Law, and the Charge. The Introduction explains the importance of being an Eagle Scout and the weight of the responsibility. The Scout Oath and Law are the ideals and the basis of the Scout Movement. Finally, the Charge is a set of expectations of the Eagle Scout.
As an Eagle Scout, you have demonstrated that you possess the qualities of responsibility, service, and leadership. You have earned the highest award by living to the standards of the Scout Oath and Law. You have a responsibility to set an example for others.
The Scout Oath:
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
The Scout Law:
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly,
courteous, kind, obedient,
cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
Therefore, as an Eagle Scout, I charge you to faithfully live by the Scout Oath and Law,
to be an example in your community,
and to give freely of your time and talents
in service to others.
You are now an Eagle Scout and must use your experience
to help others along the Scouting trail.
We hope that this printable sheet of the Eagle Scout Charge makes it easier for you to present the charge at your Court of Honor. Congratulations on achieving this incredible honor!
