• Do two of the following:

  • Name five books that have had a great influence on you.
  • Name five books (novels, biographies, histories, or other nonfiction) and explain why they were interesting and beneficial to you.
  • Name five books (fiction or nonfiction) that you think someone in your age group should read and explain why.

• Discuss with your counselor the books you have read and the benefits of reading.
• Explain to your counselor what is meant by “reading between the lines.” Demonstrate this by summarizing a book, article, or story.
