Antiterrorism Level I is a training program to help raise awareness and vigilance of those who live in or are visiting areas of potential terrorist activity.

The Antiterrorism Level I theme focuses on four main areas: anticipate, be vigilant, don’t be a target, and take appropriate action. These four themes are designed to give individuals a chance to recognize potential threats and take steps to minimize their risk of becoming a target. The key topics discussed in the training include understanding threat factors, undertaking measures to enhance personal security, and avoiding potential targets.

Of the four themes, one is not actually associated with the Antiterrorism Level I training program: counter-surveillance. Counter-surveillance is a tactic used by those engaging in espionage or other operations to conceal their activities, and is not part of the Antiterrorism Level I program’s objectives.

The other themes, which are part of the Antiterrorism Level I training program, are all incredibly important when it comes to staying safe from potential terrorist threats. Anticipating threats, being vigilant of your surroundings, and not being a target are all essential components of the training program. Taking appropriate action if a threat is identified is also emphasized, as is understanding the threat factors associated with a given situation so that you can best prepare yourself for potential risks.
